Slover Linett is a Chicago-based research firm specializing in arts audiences and other culture and education consumers. We help leading orchestras, nonprofit theaters, dance and opera companies, film festivals, arts presenters, and other cultural institutions understand their audiences through rigorous, big-picture research.
Our studies give executive and artistic directors, arts marketers, trustees, and funders a fresh look at the audiences they serve, from non-attenders and occasional ticket-buyers to loyal subscribers and donors. By bringing those audiences into a dialogue about possibilities and participation, we help arts organizations increase attendance, deepen engagement, broaden support, and take creative risks.
We’ve built long-term relationships with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (since 1999) and the Philadelphia Orchestra (since 2001). We’ve also helped large and small arts organizations across the country, from the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival to the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
We stay current on the national arts participation literature and arts marketing dialogues. In fact, we contribute to them at conferences and in our reports.
Do you want to engage your audiences in an ongoing conversation through research? We’d love to help. Please contact our senior associate for the performing arts, Chloe Chittick Patton, by email or phone.
