We’re proud to welcome one of the leading presenters and champions of the arts in Chicago, the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, to the Slover Linett client family. We will be working with the theater to help it more deeply understand and engage its multiple audiences.
The Harris Theater plays a unique role in the city’s cultural landscape. More than just a rental venue, the Harris Theater is a collaborative partner to over thirty-five resident companies ranging from the Chicago Children's Choir and Fulcrum Point New Music Project to Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Music of the Baroque (a long-time Slover Linett client). In addition to its own work with Chicago's acclaimed music and dance organizations, the Theater brings national and international artists to the Midwest through its Harris Theater Presents and Family Series.
The Harris Theater has engaged Slover Linett to help it develop a more systematic understanding of its audiences and their motivations for attending performances at the theater. We will conduct an online survey of patrons designed to provide the Harris Theater with a detailed picture of its patron preferences and behaviors, which will act as the foundation for the theater’s communications and programming strategies for both new and existing audiences.
Slover Linett’s senior associate for the performing arts, Chloe Chittick Patton, looks forward to the findings. “I’m curious what the crossover patterns are,” she says. “Is it the same people going to see dance and music? Are there separate audiences for more traditional and more contemporary programming, or do people explore both realms? The range of performances at The Harris makes this a great opportunity to deepen our understanding of arts attendance.”
